Steamed Beef With Cream Of Rice

Total Time: 2 hrs 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 2 hrs

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef, sliced 2-inch x 1-inch x 1/8-inch
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sherry wine
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground aniseed
  • 1 cup cream of rice
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • parsley, for garnishing

Recipe

  • 1 marinate beef in soy sauce, sherry, and cornstarch for 10 minutes.
  • 2 mix cream of rice cereal, brown sugar and ground anise.
  • 3 coat beef with cream of rice mixture.
  • 4 place meat in a bowl; place bowl in steamer.
  • 5 steam 2 hours.
  • 6 garnish with parsley.
  • 7 serve hot.
  • 8 note: i have no idea how many this serves so i'm guessing maybe 6 as part of a chinese meal.
