Low Fat Ras Malai

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup non-fat powdered milk
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 liter 1% low-fat milk
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 green cardamoms (chhoti ilaichi)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped pistachios (pistay)
  • 1/2 teaspoon kewra essence

Recipe

  • 1 mix together the first 4 ingredients into a dough and form into small oval, slightly flattened balls.
  • 2 meanwhile boil the milk with sugar and cardamom seeds.
  • 3 when the milk starts to boil add the malai/ milk powder balls.
  • 4 when they start to swell up lower the heat and cook for 10 minutes.
  • 5 just before removing from heat add kewra essence.
  • 6 garnish with pistachios.
  • 7 chill and serve.
