Potato Onion Masala

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 2
  • 2 medium onions
  • 1 big potato (or 2 small ones)
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 -2 red chile
  • black mustard seeds
  • salt
  • water
  • oil

Recipe

  • 1 cut the potatoes and slice the onions not too long and not too small.
  • 2 heat oil in a cooking pan and put the mustard seeds.
  • 3 when the seeds stops crackling, put the red chillies.
  • 4 saute the onions in the pan now for a while till its golden brown.
  • 5 add the potatoes, the chilli powder and the turmeric powders along with the salt, and mix together.
  • 6 add water to immerse the potatoes and cook in medium flame till the potatoes are cooked.
  • 7 you can garnish with curry leaves [optional].
  • 8 serve hot with rice. goes best with salad/curd and pickle.
