Potato Onion Masala

Ingredients

- 2 medium onions
- 1 big potato (or 2 small ones)
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 -2 red chile
- black mustard seeds
- salt
- water
- oil
Recipe
- 1 cut the potatoes and slice the onions not too long and not too small.
- 2 heat oil in a cooking pan and put the mustard seeds.
- 3 when the seeds stops crackling, put the red chillies.
- 4 saute the onions in the pan now for a while till its golden brown.
- 5 add the potatoes, the chilli powder and the turmeric powders along with the salt, and mix together.
- 6 add water to immerse the potatoes and cook in medium flame till the potatoes are cooked.
- 7 you can garnish with curry leaves [optional].
- 8 serve hot with rice. goes best with salad/curd and pickle.
