Spicy Indian Pomfret Bhurji

Total Time: 55 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 35 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 2
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 5 green chilies, washed,ends trimmed and finely chopped
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 1 cup grated coconut
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped fresh coriander leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 lime, juice of
  • salt
  • 1 butterfish, washed,sliced and marinated in
  • 1/2 tablespoon vinegar, and
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Recipe

  • 1 heat oil in a skillet on medium flame.
  • 2 stir in the minced garlic and fry until lightly browned.
  • 3 mix in the green chillies and onions.
  • 4 saute until the onions are browned and aromatic.
  • 5 now add the coconut, corriander leaves, salt, turmeric powder and lemon juice.
  • 6 cook on low flame{simmer} for 12 minutes.
  • 7 now, fold in the fish slices.
  • 8 mix carefully and cook, stirring occasionally, until the fish is tender when touched with a fork and ready to eat.
  • 9 serve hot with rotis or bread.
  • 10 enjoy!
