Spicy Indian Pomfret Bhurji

Ingredients

- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- 5 green chilies, washed,ends trimmed and finely chopped
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 1 cup grated coconut
- 1/2 cup finely chopped fresh coriander leaves
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 lime, juice of
- salt
- 1 butterfish, washed,sliced and marinated in
- 1/2 tablespoon vinegar, and
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Recipe
- 1 heat oil in a skillet on medium flame.
- 2 stir in the minced garlic and fry until lightly browned.
- 3 mix in the green chillies and onions.
- 4 saute until the onions are browned and aromatic.
- 5 now add the coconut, corriander leaves, salt, turmeric powder and lemon juice.
- 6 cook on low flame{simmer} for 12 minutes.
- 7 now, fold in the fish slices.
- 8 mix carefully and cook, stirring occasionally, until the fish is tender when touched with a fork and ready to eat.
- 9 serve hot with rotis or bread.
- 10 enjoy!
