Spiced Rose Water Syrup

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick, broken in two
  • 1 teaspoon rose water

Recipe

  • 1 make a syrup by stirring the water and sugar together in a heavy saucepan over medium low heat until the sugar dissolves.
  • 2 increase heat to medium high; add cinnamon sticks; boil until the syrup is reduced to a scant one cup, about ten minutes.
  • 3 remove from heat, stir in the rose water and allow the syrup to cool.
