Palak Ki Puri ( A Puri Made Of Fresh Spinach)

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 20
  • 450 g wheat flour (2 cups)
  • 250 g spinach
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 6 teaspoons milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • oil (for deep frying)

Recipe

  • 1 clean and wash spinach.
  • 2 place in a pan with little water and onion.
  • 3 cook until tender.
  • 4 drain and grind to a paste.
  • 5 sift flour and salt in a large bowl.
  • 6 add spinach and milk to make a stiff dough.
  • 7 knead the dough well.
  • 8 divide it into 20 parts.
  • 9 roll them out into round puris of 3" (7 1/2 cms) diameter each.
  • 10 heat oil in a deep frying pan and fry 1 or 2 puris at a time.
  • 11 turn once.
  • 12 remove when both sides are cooked.
  • 13 serve hot with youghurt.
