Chai Tea The Simple, Quick, And Delicious Way!

Total Time: 15 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • 15 green cardamom pods
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons fennel seeds
  • 5 cups water
  • 6 teaspoons sugar (whichever is your favourite kind)
  • 5 orange pekoe tea bags (or plain black tea of your choice)
  • 3/4 cup milk (or to taste)

Recipe

  • 1 split open each cardamom pod but do not peel.
  • 2 add cardamom pods to medium-to-large saucepan along with fennel and water.
  • 3 add the sugar and stir to dissolve.
  • 4 turn stove on to high heat and bring mixture to a boil.
  • 5 once boiling, turn off heat. add the teabags and let steep for about 1-2 minutes (or longer depending on how strong you like your tea).
  • 6 once steeped, add milk (if using).
  • 7 pour the mixture into teacups with a tea strainer or filter to filter out the whole spices. (unless you really enjoy a mouthful of cardamom! (i know i do.)).
  • 8 enjoy!
