Phaldari Phirni

Ingredients

- 1 liter milk
- 1/2 teaspoon green cardamoms, powdered
- 150 g rice, mixed with water below into 1 cup paste
- 150 g water
- 100 g sugar
- 2 teaspoons saffron, dissolved in water
- 3 -4 strawberries, chopped into small pieces
- 1 strawberry, chopped in the shape of a fan,to garnish
Recipe
- 1 firstly, prepare the rice paste in a mixie by grinding together 150gms rice and 150 gms.
- 2 water.
- 3 keep aside.
- 4 bring milk to a boil.
- 5 add powdered green cardamom and stir well.
- 6 add rice paste, sugar and saffron that has been dissolved in water.
- 7 stir well.
- 8 cook till the sugar is dissolved and the rice is cooked.
- 9 pass through a sieve into another bowl.
- 10 mix well and cool.
- 11 keep aside.
- 12 put the chopped strawberries in a bowl (traditionally, in india, earthen"sakoras" are used).
- 13 pour the above prepared phirni over these.
- 14 chill the phirni in order to allow it to set.
- 15 chop a strawberry in the shape of a fan and garnish the chilled and set phirni with this.
- 16 serve chilled.
