Karachi Halwa Ii

Ingredients
- 500 g caster sugar
- 115 g arrowroot
- 3 -5 drops yellow food coloring
- 2 teaspoons lime juice
- ghee, as required
- 60 g almonds
- 30 pistachios
Recipe
- 1 dissolve the sugar in 3 cups of water.
- 2 stir and boil for 5 minutes.
- 3 strain through a sieve lined with muslin cloth.
- 4 mix arrowroot powder with 1.
- 5 5 cups cold water to make a thin paste.
- 6 cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture turns into one lump-less lump!
- 7 add lime juice.
- 8 stir away!
- 9 gradually add the sugar syrup.
- 10 when the mixture sticks to the base of the pan, add 1 tablespoons.
- 11 ghee.
- 12 repeat this step until the mixture becomes a lump again!
- 13 fold in the nuts.
- 14 pour into a greased pan.
- 15 smooth down with a greased spoon.
- 16 allow to cool.
- 17 cut into squares and serve.
- 18 store refrigerated for upto 4 days.
