Kandhe Ki Roti - Mummy's Favourite Onion Paratha

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 3 medium onions, finely chopped
  • 2 big green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup gram flour
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, washed and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 -3 tablespoons oil, for kneading
  • water, as required, for kneading the dough
  • 3 tablespoons oil, for cooking the parathas on either side

Recipe

  • 1 knead the first nine ingredients together.
  • 2 pinch off even-sized balls of the dough to make parathas.
  • 3 use a rolling pin to roll out the parathas.
  • 4 heat a griddle on the stove top.
  • 5 cook the paratha on either side on the griddle.
  • 6 transfer to a plate and serve hot with a cup of hot indian chai (tea).
  • 7 enjoy!
